Odile Thibodeaux

Criminal defense lawyer, New Orleans

I grew up in Gentilly. I've spent my whole career in the criminal courts on Tulane Avenue, and I keep my practice small enough that I answer my own phone.

I started out sitting in the back of courtrooms, watching how a judge looked at a person before they'd said a word. The people who were nervous and plainly dressed, standing beside a lawyer who looked just like them, were heard.

So I tell every client the same thing: wear a clean white shirt, nothing loud. And I wear one too. We walk in together, and nobody in that room can tell which of us is on trial.

I take DWI cases, drug charges and expungements, and only those. I read every file myself, I watch every video, and I tell you what I see, even when it isn't what you hoped.
